12 July 2026 Boots says in-store collection will begin.
Boots says customers will also be able to access the oral Wegovy treatment in selected stores from 12 July 2026, alongside home delivery. That is a route update, not a price update. Check the live provider comparison for the current public pricing picture.
6 July 2026 Wegovy pill launched in the UK.
The Wegovy pill launched for private sale in the UK on 6 July 2026 after MHRA approval on 11 June 2026. The 1.5mg and 4mg doses are available now on private prescription. The 9mg and 25mg doses are due from 20 July 2026. NHS access is not expected before 2027 to 2028.
5 February 2026 MHRA updates semaglutide safety guidance.
The MHRA updated safety guidance for semaglutide medicines after reviewing the very rare risk of NAION. If you notice sudden vision changes while taking the Wegovy pill, contact your prescriber urgently and use the Yellow Card scheme to report suspected side effects.

The main update is now live: the Wegovy pill launched in the UK on 6 July 2026. This updates older pre-launch and waitlist wording across the site.
Current UK status
Wegovy pill launched on 6 July 2026
The Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide) launched in the UK on 6 July 2026. The 1.5mg and 4mg doses are available now on private prescription. The 9mg and 25mg doses are due to follow from 20 July 2026. It is private prescription only; NHS access to the oral form is not expected before 2027 to 2028. Suitability is decided by the prescriber.
