Oral GLP-1 tablets watchlist: UK status and future routes

The UK now has a live Wegovy pill route, but not every oral GLP-1 name is available here. This watchlist follows medicines that still need a UK licence, genuine supply and a real provider route before they can be compared as current options.

The watchlist in brief

The main future oral GLP-1 medicine to follow is orforglipron, known as Foundayo in the United States. It is a genuine medicine-development and licensing story, but it is not a live UK provider route. That distinction matters: overseas approval, a press announcement or a provider waitlist does not establish UK availability.

Not a live UK price

There is no defensible standard UK price to compare while a medicine has no established UK supply route.

Not a provider listing

A provider should not be treated as offering a medicine simply because it has published a blog post, expression-of-interest form or future-treatment page.

Not an alternative today

A future tablet cannot be used as a substitute for a current route in a price table or treatment comparison.

Foundayo and orforglipron

Foundayo is the United States brand name associated with orforglipron. UK search demand is growing, but the useful question is not whether the name is appearing online. It is whether a UK medicine licence, supply route and public prescribing information exist. Until those conditions are met, Tablet Compare keeps Foundayo in factual status coverage rather than provider comparisons, offer pages or price tables.

Compare the current status of orforglipron and semaglutide tablets for the differences between the two oral GLP-1 stories.

What has moved out of the watchlist

Wegovy pill is no longer a future-only topic because it has a private UK route. The live public comparison belongs on the current Wegovy pill and provider pages, where standard prices and provider availability are checked separately from introductory offers.

Rybelsus is also not a watchlist product. It is an oral semaglutide medicine with a UK type 2 diabetes role, not a weight-management substitute for Wegovy pill. Its different licensed role is why it stays separate from the live Wegovy pill price comparison.

What needs to change before a medicine can be compared here

  1. UK regulatory position: a medicine needs a clear UK licensing status.
  2. Real supply route: public information must show that the medicine can genuinely be supplied through a UK route.
  3. Provider evidence: a provider listing needs a named medicine, meaningful access information and a current source.
  4. Public price evidence: a price can only enter a standard comparison table when its medicine, dose or pack basis and terms are clear.

This approach prevents future medicine headlines from being mixed with current commercial information.
