4mg is the second strength in the UK Wegovy pill dose ladder. In the approved product schedule it follows the 1.5mg opening stage. It is available privately in the UK, subject to a prescriber’s assessment.
Where 4mg fits in the treatment schedule
The UK Wegovy tablet leaflet describes a staged schedule: 1.5mg for the first month, then 4mg for the second month, followed by 9mg and 25mg in later months. This is approved product information, not a personal treatment plan. Prescribing and review remain individual clinical decisions.
Comparing the 4mg row is helpful when looking at the likely standard price after an opening month. It is still important to distinguish a normal monthly price from introductory deals, subscriptions, delivery charges and consultation fees.
Current UK availability
4mg has been available on private prescription since 6 July 2026. The 9mg and 25mg strengths are due from 20 July 2026, so a provider should not present them as available to order before that date. Our comparison table only shows published standard rows for the route and strength concerned.

Practical information from the leaflet
Wegovy tablets are not handled like a standard tablet taken with a meal. The official leaflet specifies a fasting period, swallowing the tablet whole with a small amount of water, and waiting before food, other drinks or oral medicines. Follow the supplied leaflet and the directions from the prescribing service, including where other regular medicines are involved.
Read the food-timing information.
Symptoms and safety
The patient leaflet lists gastrointestinal symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation and stomach pain, among possible side effects. Contact the prescribing service, pharmacist or GP for advice if a symptom is difficult to manage, persists, or affects eating and drinking.
Seek urgent medical advice for severe, persistent abdominal pain, symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, or sudden or worsening eyesight. The full safety information is in the official leaflet.
Official information
